Premium metal prints are printed onto aluminium sheets that have a special coating to accept sublimation inks. This coating sometimes has small bubbles, bumps, dips or other minor irregularities in the surface.
All sheets are thoroughly inspected prior to printing and we will position your image on the panels as best we can to minimize the visibility of these. We are unable to remake panels due to these minor imperfections.
As these panels are produced using a sublimation process, colours may vary from standard prints. Please contact us if colour accuracy is critical for your project.
All our panels are printed in South Australia by a South Australian family owned and operated company. The Chromaluxe panels themselves are manufactured in the United States.
Yes, all images are proofed prior to being printed. This is to ensure you know exactly what will be included in the printed area of your panel after allowing for the small amount of bleed required for this process, any cropping required to suit the aspect ratio of the size you have chosen, and portrait/landscape orientation of your image. We cannot guarantee colour accuracy of these proofs, as all computer monitors differ in their colour reproduction.
Please note that additional photo correction such as removal of dust and scratches, colour correction, addition of text or other special requests will be quoted at our standard design rates. Please contact us on 1300 100 275 to discuss your requirements.
Our standard turnaround time is approximately 5 - 10 business days, depending on stock availability and your location. If you require your print in a hurry (for example as a birthday gift, for a special occasion or an exhibition) please contact us and we’ll do our best to meet your deadline.
Generally, high resolution JPG files over 10Mb are suitable for printing at all sizes. JPG files under 4Mb may be satisfactory at smaller sizes, however there is a lot of variation in image quality versus file sizes. Please email us with your image if you’re uncertain and we’ll offer some advice.
The maximum file size we can accept is 100Mb.
Yes, we can print photos taken with phone cameras. Remember, the better quality the original image, the better the print. Phones have small lenses and although images can look great on a small screen they cannot match the photos produced by DSLR or Compact digital cameras. If you do want to print photos from your phone, be sure you are shooting at the largest file size and highest quality available. Phones also often produce images with unusual aspect ratios so some cropping may be required.
Social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram apply heavy compression to images and reduce the resolution of uploaded photos substantially. This results in a drastic loss of quality which makes images from these websites unsuitable for high resolution printing processes, even though they may look okay on screen.
We suggest you upload a copy of the original photo directly from your phone or PC.
We aim to support photographers and artists to achieve their goals and promote their work. By uploading an image, you agree that you are the original photographer or artist, or you have full permission to reproduce it.
Yes, please send us an email with your file and we’ll let you know if it will be suitable for printing at any particular sizes. We also offer file preparation, retouching and other design services.
We check all files before printing, we want your print to be the best it can so we’ll let you know if there are any issues with you image.
We can work with a wide range of file types. For best results your files should be saved in the sRGB or Adobe RGB colour space. Our printing software will perform the CMYK conversion required for printing.
If you’re not sure, just email your image and we’ll alert you of any potential issues.
Certainly! We can make custom size prints, please email us with your requirements.
Prints onto ChromaLuxe metal panels were tested by Wilhelm Imaging Research in Iowa, USA and achieved a permanence rating of more than 60 years using two different ink sets. This rating is more than three times better than commonly used silver halide photo papers.
Unlike other printed media, our metal prints are easy to clean. The panels can be cleaned with a soft cloth and any all-purpose household cleaner. The cleaner can be sprayed directly on the surface of the print and then wiped with a soft cloth as needed.
The Chromaluxe aluminum panels featured on this website are not designed or rated for permanent outdoor display. However we do have options for outdoor installations, please contact us for more details.
