Image Requirements

The quality of your finished metal print depends on the quality of the image you provide. For the best results, always upload the original image file at its highest resolution.

If we have any concerns about image quality, we'll contact you before production begins.

Image Quality

As a general guide, high-resolution JPG files larger than 10MB are suitable for printing at most sizes. Files smaller than 4MB may still produce excellent results at smaller print sizes, however image quality can vary depending on resolution, compression and image content.

The maximum file size we can accept via our website upload form is 500MB. However, we can also accept larger images via Dropbox, Google Drive or WeTransfer, please contact us to discuss.

Avoid using:

  • Screenshots
  • Images downloaded from social media
  • Images received via messaging apps
  • Heavily cropped images

Smartphone Photography

Modern smartphones can produce excellent results, particularly when images are captured in good lighting and uploaded directly from your device.

For best results, use the highest quality camera settings available and upload the original image file.

File Formats and Colour Profiles

We can work with a wide range of file formats.

For best results, we recommend files supplied in:

  • JPG / JPEG
  • TIFF
  • PNG
  • PDF

Images should be supplied in either the sRGB or Adobe RGB colour space.

Please note that we are currently unable to print HEIC files. These files should be converted to JPG, TIFF or PNG before uploading.

Cropping and Aspect Ratios

Different print sizes use different aspect ratios, which means some images may require cropping. Our online preview allows you to position your image before ordering.

As every screen displays colour differently, slight variations between your screen and the finished print may occur.

Colour Reproduction

Every screen displays colour differently. Factors such as monitor calibration, brightness settings and device type can influence how colours appear on screen.

While we take great care to reproduce colours accurately, slight variations between your screen and the finished print may occur.

If colour accuracy is critical for your project, we recommend contacting us prior to ordering.

Copyright and Image Ownership

Premium Metal Prints proudly supports photographers, artists and content creators.

By uploading an image, you confirm that you are the original creator or have permission from the copyright owner to reproduce the image.
